Being a mom in the world we live in today is by far different from the world our mothers and grandmothers lived in. We live in the age of information. You can literally go through your Facebook newsfeed for 5 minutes and see 30 posts on how you're doing it all wrong.

You change your kids diaper and your baby is now clean and smiling and happy, but you know what?

"you did that with the wrong diaper, it has chemicals in it". and "oh you know what? that cream you put on their bottom and those wipes, those could give them a chemical burn".

You did the dishes, cleaned the whole kitchen, did the laundry and made dinner, all before they got home from school; but …

"you did it with the wrong soap and fed them food with gluten and dairy." And "you know you really don't need to be sending them to public school that could really have a bad influence on them." "But homeschooling them could really effect their social skills, and you know those private schools get all of the kids that were kicked out of public school." Whew seriously I mean how are we supposed to make any decision when it's just all wrong! I'm telling you this information we get every day can suck you dry and really just make you want to give up all together.

And then on the other side of that I see "you know your burnt out" , "Moms are burnt out" ,"self care isn't enough for burnt out moms", "Stay at home moms have it harder than working moms" These are literally titles of blogs I saw in my news feed in a matter of five minutes! Well that's encouraging. We swing from one side of the pendulum to the other. No wonder we feel like a #hotmessmom all the time and feel like we can't get it right. This blog is to attempt to get you centered and balanced and to focus on what God has to say about you being a mom.

First of all please know God never intended you to ever feel like your doing it all wrong. There really isn't a right way that the world can offer you. The only way we can filter through the endless amounts of information right at our fingertips and in our faces all the time is to go to the Bible and see what God has to say about child rearing. Some days I just have to stop myself and say "okay what do I know right now?" I know that God has called me and only me to be a mom to my children. I know He wants me to "raise them up in the way they should go" I know he wants me to be an example of a Godly woman to them. I know that He has called me to discipline them and instruct them in Biblical teaching.

The Word of God is your compass, your guide book, your beacon. When the world is throwing up 87 different studies and statistics in your face, shoot those up to God. Be lead by HIS spirit and do what he tells you. It is good to be well informed; don't hide and refuse to listen to wise teaching or instruction, but also don't listen to so much information that your swimming in a sea of confusion and chaos. God never intended that. So what do you KNOW right now? What is God telling you? How is He leading and directing you in your life? If you don't know set aside some time to ask Him. Dig into His Word and listen to His voice. And don't even tell me you don't have the time because you had time to read the 87 blogs of people who have no idea what they are talking about, so you have time. You just have to purpose it and make the time.

In a world of endless amounts of information be the one that filters through the chaos and seeks God and lets him guide and lead you through this #momlife. He gave YOU your child and you know what? He has full confidence that you are more than capable and up for the task. But He never intended or called you to do it apart from Him. He's your strength when its all falling apart Mama. He has the answers, just ask!
